“Twice have I asked the Sakyan,”
said the venerable Mogharāja.
“You did not reply to me, sighted one.
‘Upon the third time answers
the divine sage’ — so I have heard.
This world, the other world,
the Brahmā world with its gods —
they do not understand the view
of Gotama the renowned.
So I came with a question
for the one of surpassing vision:
how does one regard the world
so the King of Death does not see him?”
“Look upon the world as empty,
Mogharāja, always recollected.
Having uprooted self-view,
so would one cross over death.
One looking upon the world thus,
the King of Death does not see.”
