A translation of the Pārāyanavagga, the fifth and final chapter of the Sutta Nipāta. Sixteen brahmin students put their questions to the Buddha, and his answers point the way from this shore to the far one. The translators note that the opening verses (Snp 5.1) and the closing verses (Snp 5.18–5.19) were most likely composed later than the rest.
